Fun with "Stumble!"

I recently added FireFox's "Stumble!" to my browser, and I love it! "Stumble!" asks you what topics you are interested in and then all you do is click on the icon in your browser, and "Stumble!" finds websites that match the categories you listed. It's a fun and easy way to surf the web! Two categories I checked are "humor" and "animals," so I get lots of really funny animal videos (many from YouTube) that are both amazing and entertaining. Try "Stumbling!" It's great fun!

Other People's Blogs

I looked at some other blogs, trying to pick one to comment on (oh dear, I ended in a preposition). With several of the blogs it is difficult to tell who the writers are, and I kind of want to know. So that was a teachable moment for me, and I went back and looked at my own blog to make sure my identity was verifiable to anyone who cared. Also, by looking at several other blogs, I was able to look at different formats and get some good ideas to file away for the future. Having said that, I don't know if I'll be maintaining a blog any time soon, as I'm not sure what I'd blog about.

Also, I see that I made an editing error in my last post and I can't find any way to edit a posted entry, so apologies to anyone reading it. Another teachable moment!

Week Three

Week 3, week 3, this is week 3...

I spent quite a bit of time looking at the photographs in Flickr, and some are truly amazing. Like YouTube, Flickr could suck up much of one's time!

The Flickr mashups were interesting, too. Some of the tools (?) might be useful to me in the future; others, well I just didn't get the point. Like why would I want to wear a Flickr badge? Others I didn't understand at first glance, and if it's confusing, I tend to move on to something else.

The Warholizer is available right on my Mac laptop in a program called PhotoBooth. I used Photobooth to take the picture of myself that's posted on my blog and could have used the "Warholized" (though they don't call it that) myself.

Even though I probably won't be using any of the mashups any time soon, the power lies in knowing that they are available, so thank you "23 Things" guides!

Okay, so my picture is WAY bigger than I want it to be. None the less, I got it posted, and even managed to post a picture of one of my dogs (also larger than I wanted), so I'm going to declare a success and sleep well tonight!
Wow, the Blogger homepage has a great tutorial on how to upload a photo to your blogger. I will try it soon!
I thought this was week two of "23 Things," but apparently I lost a week and we're in week 3. I really like the way "23 Things" is structured because it provides me an opportunity to learn, but it doesn't place any demands on me. No worrying about deadlines or grades. Ahhhh. More time by the pool.
